Get to know one of our USASA Clubs, MED RADical Club! Read on to find out what the club entails and how you can be a part of the unique and wonderful things that the club does.

1. Club Name
MED RADical Club check out their socials here: Instagram | Facebook
Contact them directly here: Email

2. What are your club's main goals and aims?
The MED RADical Social Club is the official USASA Club for all Medical Radiation Science Students! We aim to organise social opportunities for the Med Rad community. Members have access to all Med Rad social events and merch throughout the year including our rad themed pub crawls and our highly anticipated Medical Radiation Science's Ball. Our goal is to represent Med Rad students and provide opportunities for friendship beyond the lecture theatre!

3. What have been some of your clubs biggest achievements?
2021 is our biggest club yet with over 180 members this year! Our socials have grown from small informative pages to active & creative spaces to connect with our members (chuck us a follow!). We have some talented designers in the exec team this year who designed an amazing new crewneck merch piece which you will see taking over City East soon as they are distributed. Our James Bond themed pub crawl 007 License to Irradiate has been another highlight: our biggest ever pub crawl and our rads really bought the energy!

4. What is your club looking forward to this year?
People are already asking when our next pub crawl is so we have definitely locked in an SP5 pub crawl (if you have any good radiation puns hit us up!). In 2021, we are so excited to be spicing things up for our most anticipated event of the year, The Medical Radiation Sciences Ball - cocktail style. The end of year event is already under construction and we have a feeling it's gonna be a big one this year so get ready to buy your tickets when they drop. As an executive team, we are most looking forward to the growth of our club! In the past, we have been a smaller club and this year we have already grown heaps and put ourselves out there a lot more!

5. How can students get involved in your club?
Signing up as a member through our USASA club page is super free and easy -click the 'join' button and give us your details. Membership gives you access to our rad themed events including pub crawls and the end of year ball. We are super active on the socials so follow us there to keep in the loop, be involved in our polls and QAs and just have a chat with us! While targeted at med rad students, we love our non-rad supporters & having them at our events. Everyone is welcome!

6. What's the best thing about your club?
The Medical Radiation Sciences Cohort has a reputation for having a close-knit & friendly community of students. Being a part of the MED RADical club means everyone can join the community and make friends at our social events. We have a dedicated and enthusiastic executive team who are super supportive and are always down to give advice and have a chat. And of course, the MED RAD Ball is the best ball going around so access to ball tickets is the second-best thing 😉.

7. If you had no limits on budget or space what would be your dream club event?
A long lunch in McLaren vale with bottomless wood oven pizza and drinks! Med Rad students are a hard-working bunch so when it comes to a day off we make the most of it. Our team loves neon signs so we would have a personalised rad themed neon sign (for photos of course!).

8. Is there anything else you would like to share that your club has to offer?
Our club has a focus on connecting with all of our year levels. Our student-run club has a 'big brother/sister' attitude and so strive to be a place to turn to for advice and reassurance. Our DMs and inbox are always open to answer questions but even more so to just have a chat!
