Dear City-East students,

My name is Japan Bhatt, I am currently finishing up the second year of my Bachelor’s in Nursing degree, at our City-East campus. Over time, I have developed an immense passion for both healthcare and enhancing the university experience for those around me who are also studying Nursing, or any other clinical and health sciences degrees.

Throughout my years at UniSA, I have specifically enhanced my communication, collaboration, critical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership skills, which is evident by my participation in the Student Ambassador and UniMentor programs. Furthermore, as a Nursing student, I understand and recognise the everyday struggles that we face, whether it’s an overload of back-to-back assessments, exams, or clinical placements.

Therefore, I am running for the City-East Undergraduate Student Representative position because I want to ensure that not only Nursing students, but also students doing other degrees such as laboratory medicine, medical radiation, podiatry, midwifery, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, human movement, feel heard and supported.

If elected, I would prioritise improving the communication between students and the university, alongside promoting positive mental health and well-being. Moreover, as a student and leader, my main goal has always been to foster an inclusive and supportive environment, where other students feel at comfort and can thrive both socially and academically.

I am committed to representing the large cohort of students at City-East and ensuring that the student voice is heard. Thus, I would be honoured to have your vote and serve you as a City-East Undergraduate Student Representative.
