My name is Dasuni, and I am running for International Student Representative with UNITE.
UNITE is a passionate and diverse team of experienced student leaders committed to amplifying student voices.
This year, we’ve worked to advocate for:
- Expanding financial support during the cost-of-living crisis.
- Establishing a Student Food Pantry on campus.
- Introducing new pool tables, foosball, and arcade machines in student spaces.
- Supporting clubs and student communities while bringing bigger and better USASA events to campus.
- Amplifying the voices of online students within USASA and the University.
- Promoting campus safety for all students.
As an international student, I understand the unique challenges we face. As your representative, my goal is to:
- Advocate for stronger support services, including better access to housing and financial resources.
- To strengthen that international students’ concerns are prioritized in the UniSA and University of Adelaide merger.
- Promote greater international student representation in university decision-making processes.
- Work toward creating more inclusive programs and events that foster a sense of community.
Additionally, I aim to:
- Advocate for more scholarships and professional development opportunities tailored to international students.
- Push for improved wellness services and dedicated study spaces that meet the needs of international students.
