Dear students,

My name is Japan Bhatt, I am currently finishing up the second year of my Bachelor’s in Nursing degree at the UniSA City-East campus. Throughout my time at UniSA, as a Student Ambassador and UniMentor I have had the opportunity to speak to many current and prospective university students, by participating in events such as Open Day, High School presentations/tours, and casually engaging in discussions around the campus. Furthermore, this need to socialise and have awareness of what is happening around me has allowed me to learn more about each student’s respective struggles and challenges at university, and also connect with them on a personal level.

Therefore, I am running for the USASA President position because I believe that the student voice should be upheld, and in order to achieve this I would like to work in collaboration with other student representatives, to ensure a positive impact on the wide community of students across UniSA.

If elected, I would prioritise improving the communication between students and the university, alongside promoting positive mental health and well-being. Moreover, as a student and leader, my main goal has always been to foster an inclusive and supportive environment, where other students feel at comfort and can thrive both socially and academically.

I am dedicated to being the type of President who actively listens, acts, and leads as an example. Thus, I would be honoured to have your vote and serve as your USASA Board President in 2025.
