UniSA Art Club

Bringing together everyone who loves art! ✨

About us

After a year-long hiatus, the UniSA Art Club is back!  With brand-new activities, workshops, and the same love for art, we are eager to go on a creative journey with you!

Who are we?

We're a community of students studying a range of different degrees who share an interest in the visual arts. Our club welcomes members of all skill levels, and we aim to provide a safe space for everyone to create, share ideas and teach one another, and to make our hangout as inclusive and fun as possible!

What can you do in the club?

Whether you want to share your fav artists, discover new watercolour techniques, learn origami, build miniture models together, or want feedback on your short comic - bring it to the club! We encourage everyone to hold their passion and curiosity, and to express creativity through all variety of visual arts – whether to pursue it as a hobby or intend to pursue a career in art, the art club will support you by providing opportunities to exhibit artwork, exchange feedback and lead or participate in workshops.

Here are some of our frequently asked questions (FAQs)!

"What are the benefits of being a club member?"

Being a member means you will be the first to hear about our club events, as well as receive informative monthly newsletter on art events all around Adelaide! And you’ll have access to use our club's shared materials/tools for free!

"Do I have to be an art student/need an art major to join the club?"

Not at all! Our club prides itself on providing opportunities and spaces for all to share our common interests in the visual arts.

"Do I need to be a UniSA student to join the club?"

Nope! We welcome community members, alumni and teachers!

"What sort of events does your club hold?"

Although we don't have a club room (yet), our club schedules to hold monthly workshops focused on different art practices (often assisted by the UniSA art faculty). This can range from playing around with obscure materials, going on sketching trips around Adelaide, to trying out 3d printing and making monster costumes. We also run online art competitions and club meetings from time to time.

"How often does your club meet?"

Read above!

"Are there any fees associated with joining your club/participating in events?"

Our committee aims to make the visual arts as accessible as possible, but to cover material costs for some workshops (e.g. clay, wood, hire professional model for life sketching) we may ask for a small entry fee to participate. You are not obligated to attend every single event.

"Can I participate in club activities without a membership?"

Yes! People are welcome to participate in an activity or join our meetings without a membership to get a feel for how we run things and what we do before officially joining!

"Can I become a part of the club committee?"

Absolutely! Our club has just been re-activated, and we need your helping hand to get it back on track. If you are interested in an executive or committee role, please email us at the address below.
