The club that offers free fortnightly film screenings at UniSA Magill Campus (for students & non-students!)
Film Club plays host to a growing community of cinephiles in Adelaide — we all love watching movies and love not spending money even more. Founded by two film and TV students in 2024, we're dedicated to always offering free, inclusive events and cultivating a welcoming environment.
Our club is for everyone: student or non-student, filmmaker or casual viewer. We're so passionate about community that we want our members to help us pick what we watch every second Tuesday at 6:00pm at the UniSA Magill Campus’s Hartley Playhouse! We’ll announce a selection of films at the end of each screening and via our social media channels, and we’ll leave it to you, our members, to decide! Votes will be cast and counted via a preferential voting system (just like in Australian elections).
While our free screenings are the main event, we also have a growing Discord community that encourages film analysis and offers a space for filmmakers to share their work, ask for advice and find a crew for their next short. It's a great place to meet new people, collaborate creatively, and share why your favourite director is the best.
Film Club has a zero-tolerance policy for abuse, harassment, or discrimination. We also enforce UniSA's academic integrity guidelines and follow all South Australian copyright laws.
