Description

Islamic Society of the University of South Australia (ISUniSA) is a not-for-profit volunteer initiative. It was founded and initiated in 1991 and is currently registered under USASA. Grown from just a few members it has flourished into a modern community that upholds the high moral and spiritual values of Islam.

ISUniSA is dedicated to look after the various needs of on-campus Muslim students and staff. As a religious society with large population, we are entrusted by the university with good facilities (especially the prayer rooms) to help cater our needs. These facilities have encouraged and alerted scores of Muslim staff and students to be more active and receptive to Islam. Each campus is facilitated with a dedicated male and a female prayer room. Please look around in your campus map to find your local prayer room. Your attendance is as much important as the provision of the facility itself.

We take responsibility for holding events and activities that cater Muslims as well as non-Muslims while observing Islamic values and culture. The aim of the association is to help Australian as well as international Muslim staff and students to connect with the community and society in an atmosphere that adheres to their faith and values.

ISUniSA also aims at promoting inter-faith understanding between the people of different faiths and belief systems but in an academic spirit. Please browse through different links in the menu here. This should cater your first quest. For any further query, comment or suggestion, please email to ISUniSA@yahoogroups.com.

Benefits to become a member includes (but are not limited to), to become up to date with Muslims related news, issues and events at UniSA. Members can reach out the community on-campus for various needs (e.g. accommodation, study help, sale/purchase etc.) through our mailing list. Members can take part in the committee's discussions and decision making through polls and mailing list.
