Aboriginal Student Club

A safe space to give voice, support and friendship to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to ensure they have the best university experience possible.

About us

The Aboriginal Student Club has been established to give voice, support and friendship to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to ensure they have the best university experience possible. We are committed to supporting our mob by ensuring we promote an inclusive and safe campus.

We’re here to combat racism, build community and create change! We hope to create change not only within our cohort but the wider University student body. We are committed to centring Aboriginal knowledge systems, ancient wisdoms and ways of knowing, being and doing to protect our nations for future generations.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which UniSA campuses are situated – the Kaurna, Boandik and Barngarla. We pay our respects to Elders both past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students – this is stolen land – sovereignty was never ceded.

Come decolonise and destress with us; no matter your interests, we’re here for you.

The University of South Australia Student Association acknowledges the Kaurna, Boandik and Barngarla First Nations People as the traditional custodians of the unceded lands now home to the University of South Australia’s campuses in Adelaide, Mount Gambier and Whyalla. We respectfully acknowledge their Ancestors and Elders, past, present and emerging. We also acknowledge the Traditional Custodians and their Ancestors of the lands and waters across Australia. It was and always will be Aboriginal land.
